How to Make Shaken Beef & Watercress Salad - Bò Lúc Lắc Xà Lách Son
This recipe yields 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 lbs beef tenderloins
- 1 bunch (8 oz) watercress
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes
- 1/2 purple onions
- 1/2 fresh lime
- 2 tablespoons fried shallots
- 3 tablespoons chopped garlic
- 1 tablespoon chopped shallots
- 1 teaspoon five spice powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 tablespoon fish sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Beef Marinade Prep:
- 1 tablespoon chopped garlic
- 1 tablespoon chopped shallots
- 1 teaspoon five spice powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 tablespoon fish sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Marinate beef for 30 minutes
Watercress Salad Prep:
- 1 bunch (8 oz) watercress
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes
- 1/2 purple onions
- 2 tablespoons fried shallots
- 1/2 fresh lime
- 3 tablespoons Vietnamese dipping fish sauce
Instructions:
- Add 2 - 3 TBS of vegetable oil in a hot pan (medium-high heat)
- Add marinated beef and sear for 1 minute on each side. You can cook for less if you like it more rare!
- Once the beef is cooked, remove from pan and set aside in separate dish to let cool
- Prepare your Watercress Salad by tossing all ingredients.
- Top salad with beef, garnish with fried shallots and serve!
